Mungo & Maud Faithful Friend Dog Lead

Mungo & Maud has designed a series of products for the Wallace Collection, one of London’s most treasured national collections. Inspired by the ‘Faithful Dog’, this anthology draws a connection to many of the dog paintings featured on the walls of the handsome building which was once the home of Sir Richard Wallace. An elegant pallet of colours has been used to reflect the classical and refined taste of the Wallace Collection and the rich tones seen within its portraits. Touches of gold used as accents to imitate gilded frames and inscriptions can be identified within the products. 

The Wallace Lead is a rich-chocolate ostrich embossed leather with a modern stripe webbing to connect the past to the present. Minimal accents of gold leather scalloped edging are used to bring attention to the gilding of frames along with an oval leather detail embossed with ‘My Faithful Friend’ in gold lettering ~ to draw a parallel to name plates used on historical dog collars.
